The Community Stewardship Department combines our
environmental and community outreach efforts. We will be continuing our signature Rampathon® and Painting a Better Tomorrow® programs, as well as adding some new and exciting programs and partnerships. In combining some of these efforts with our highly successful Built Green program, this department will deliver projects and services that will create a lasting, positive impact in our communities. These programs help provide transitional housing and shelters for the homeless, wheelchair ramps for those in need and workforce development for members of the residential construction industry. Our Built Green program promotes environmentally friendly building practices throughout the region. Our goal is to give back to our community and to help keep the Puget Sound region one of the country's most desirable places to live.
Rampathon® is our annual one-day event held each May when members and friends of the Master Builders Association build free wheelchair ramps for low-income homeowners throughout King and Snohomish counties. Applications are available each year in early January.
Painting a Better Tomorrow® is an annual one-day event held in the fall when members and friends of the Master Builders Association paint and make minor cosmetic repairs to homeless shelters and nonprofit agencies throughout our community.
Training our Future Workforce - The Master Builders Association is committed to training the residential workforce of our future. Through supporting high school and higher education construction trades programs we can prepare our emerging workforce with the skills they need to build the places we live, work, and play. We also offer professional educational courses and retraining opportunities in a variety of formats to help construction industry professionals keep their skills and knowledge up to date. Many types of courses are provided, including online safety training, industry certification, National Association of Home Builders designations and more.
Built Green is an environmentally friendly green building certification program created for Puget Sound area homebuyers and those remodeling their homes, Built Green is designed for residents who want to preserve the health of our Northwest environment. In partnership with King County and Snohomish counties, the Association established Built Green to provide consumers with an easy-to-understand rating system that quantifies environmentally friendly building practices.
Construction Education Scholarship Program - The Master Builders Association is committed to encouraging students seeking education related to the home building industry by awarding scholarships for qualifying technical, community college, and university level programs.
